Generosity that activates the Power of God
2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”
One of God’s promises for our lives is more than sufficient grace for every good work. In the Old Testament, we see that when Elijah confronted the false prophets, he asked that a ditch be made for water. This was a difficult request because the people were going through a horrible drought and water was the most valuable resource. Nonetheless, they obeyed. Then Elijah said that God would send His fire down to consume all the water and He did. This is how he showed that he truly was a messenger from the Almighty One.
In order to experience the power of God in our life, we need to give that which we most treasure in our lives. The abundance in all things, at all times, depends on God who’s the owner of all and who wishes to bless us. Giving and sowing are demonstrations of love, honor and obedience, which our Heavenly Father greatly values, especially when we know that the resources we give are for a good work. Abel is recalled in the Bible for his offering since this was the way he would show his worship unto God. Abraham, Joshua, David, Solomon, Caleb and all the heroes of Faith rendered their honor unto God through their offering, since giving is the best way of receiving and sowing is the only way of reaping a harvest.
Malachi 3:10 assures us, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.
God challenges us to try Him in our tithes and offerings! He promises to bless us until it overflows, when we honor Him with the fruit of our harvest. There is no doubt that His word comes to pass in these areas as well as all those that we trust Him in. Accept His challenge today having full assurance that He will never let you down!
